just adding to what pro said, make sure you install the bearings in the correct locations meaning , there should be directions on the box that tell you which bearing goes where by a stamped number on the bearing. #1 bearing is the largest #2and #5 are the same but smaller and #3 and #4 are the same and still smaller. when i say that the bearings are smaller i mean the outside diameter, the cam journals are all the same. i hope i didnt confuse you by this. its just useless info in my head."IT'S 106 MILES TO CHICAGO , WE GOT A FULL TANK OF GAS , HALF A PACK OF CIGARETTES, ITS DARK, AND WERE WEARING SUNGLASSES"

Re: cam bearings
Point em' toward the crank bores. You should be able to see em' line up by looking through the crank oiler holes. It's been may may years since I've installed cam bearings, but I think the (2) hole one goes in the back and shuld be a little wider?????? They should be numbered. If my memory has failed me sumbuddie' will correct me."PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.

the wide rear bearing with two holes is used in the early blocks 55-56, 57 and later went with the more common one hole that is more narrow.
