Roadster pickup back together.
Oh, how sweet it is! I just sat the finished body back onto the chassis, after a 6 week thrash finishing the chassis off, and assembling fenders, etcetera for the last time untill it gets blown apart for paint. I am really impressed. This is the cab section that started life as a sedan, and has been chopped, shortened, whacked, and otherwise brutalized into a roadster pickup cab. The box is a completely homebuilt (except for the tailgate). The frame is an original model A, boxed and with new crossmembers, the engine is a 1985 Pontiac Bonneville, the rearend is an S10 with homebuilt 4-links, and the front end is a 4" dropped Super Bell I-beam, with Horton 4-links. The fenders and splash aprons are fiberglass from RamRod, in Trent River, Ontario. I just added up all the money spent to date, and including the purchase price, I have $10,974 invested.Old guy hot rodder

Brian, It's looking good. Just goes to show that you don't have to put mega bucks in to a vehicle to have a nice ride.Duane S

Brian,
You are doing a great job! And I love it that you are doing it on a reasonable budget. So what's the next step?
PatOf course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

Pat---I am into total burnout right now. I have been thrashing on this thing since the 03 of April 2004, (when I started), working full time at my regular job, and getting the s___ kicked out of me by arthritis (I'm 58 yrs old). My plan for now is to get the rams horn manifolds sandblasted and painted with Eastwood manifold silver paint, get the engine totally back together and fired, and install a steering column and get the steering hooked up. I may build a custom rolled pan to fit on the rear between the valances at the bottom of the box, which will give me a place to mount the rear license plate. I'm just so darned glad to have the "big stuff" out of the way for now.Old guy hot rodder
