anyone here ever mess around with them? are they really that bad?

I have rebuilt quite a few water pumps and fuel pumps for them. What year is the engine?

I think it's a 45... gotta check again. It's mine for the taking if I want it, but I'm not hearing good things about them. I just think it would be bada$$ to have something very different for my car.

They sure are different, not a real powerhouse with only about 130 hp. The pumps I do are from the earlier 1932-34 models. Most people replaced the engines with the V8's due to the high cost of replacement parts for the V12's, and the lighter weight. They are unique though.

that's why i can get these free... they were taken out of the Lincolns within weeks of their original purchase and replaced with Ford Flathead V8's... i'm gonna have to go take a look at them again...

To anyone that is restoring a Lincoln in that era, they would pay pretty good money. If you could find yourself just a fuel pump from one of the 30's ones, that alone would bring in about $2500.00 used! Have fun!

Don't know much about the Lincoln V12's except that the HotRod Lincoln song mentioned one.
But what is a no-brainer is the amount of torque you can get out of a 12 cylinder,,,,sometimes horse power takes a back seat to unnending torque.
Sounds like you fell into the "Eldorado of parts" i'm green with envy.

Those engines produce a neck-snapping, ET chopping, stump pulling, torque spec of 220ftlbs @ 2000rpm. That's all they needed to move a 4200lb Lincoln in 1941.
