Vacuum Gauge
Alrighty... I just bought the vacuum gauge! What do I need to do? I've got a Chevy 305, Edel 1406 Carb & Edel 2101 Intake. My problem... Doesn't want to tune properly & everyone suggested a Vac Gauge. The motor seems to run fine when going down the Highway but...When Ideling, it wants to spit & sputter. When I kill the engine... It wants to continue to run. I really need some Great advice when it comes to getting this motor dialed in w/ the gauge. I'm to the point that I want to try anything.

Possibly but not probably, ur running to low of octane and your getting detonation, which you may think is spitting and sputtering, probably is pinging, could also cause hotspots and the gas could still want to blow up under compression, yet it won't be sucsessful at running with no spark, it could very well pop and sputter when you shut it off.You don't know what you've got til it's gone

No... It's not detonation. It detonates real bad if I advance it too much. It's popping at the carb because when I play w/ the throttle by hand, it pops next to my hand. I can feel the popping in the throttle linkage. Just the vibration that the popping creates.

Have u set your timing? Retarded timing will make the popping noises.Choose your battles well===If it dont go chrome it
Ok gang. It's been awhile. With everything that was going on taking care of my mom's affairs and making a few needed mods to the Healey, it was June before anything really got rolling on this...
