    I noticed a little oil

Today while checking my air filter I noticed a little oil that was on top of my intake right by where the intake gasket meets the head. Could this be a reason for the oil consumption? Also this could be a vacum leak? Its a 350 crate 290 hp . I posted another article a couple weeks ago about using oil.

That sounds like the tappet cover is leaking.

I would only assume that it is leaking from the intake gasket maybe?

I'm having the same situation on my intake. I can't figure out where the oil is coming from. I changed the valve cover gaskets. I am also having bogging down problems on heavy acceleration from stand still.

the intake bolts may be leaking some of them run thru and in to the lifter valley and can wick up oil. try taking them out one at a time and put some sealer on the threads. and see if this helps

Yes, what Pat said. Intake bolts need to be removed and either thread sealant applied to them or add teflon tape.

Bogging comes from not enough fuel, too much fuel, or too little timing. It's a process of elemination. My first guess would be timing. Usually if you are starving for fuel, it will back fire through the carb.
Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.

Had 2 small blocks do that. Both stopped by sealing the bolts that go all the way through to the lifter valley. Have any idea's on my oil problem posted here? It's a real doozy.
