Another Small Block Timing Question
Im having some difficulties timing my chev and my manual does not answer any of the questions i have. All it is telling me is what the timing is supposed to be set at which is 7deg for an automatic small block chev. The engine is standard. What it does not tell me is if I need to time the engine with the vacuum advance pipe hooked up, or with it removed and the pipe plugged so theres no vacuum leak. This may sound like a stupid question.... but i cant find an answer anywhere... any help would be appreciated

thanks man.... also... should i be using the vacuum line from the high side of the carburettor (ported?) or the direct line at the bottom? I plugged it to the direct only as thats how it was on the other engine..... is that right?
Much appreciated
