    Question Newbie, A few questions

First off, Hi and i'm glad to be here.
    Names Dallas,
    I own : 68' Dodge Dart 270 coupe, 318 block w/ 273 top end. TF727 3spd auto, yellow in color, hardtop, Factory working A/C and P/S.

70' Chevy Nova 4door , came from factory with 230 inline 6 and a Powerglide 2spd auto. I swapped in a TH350 for better fuel economy/highway cruising. 2 days later the #6 piston/connecting rod shot out the side of the block. Dropped an 83' 305 V8 from a caprice wagon in. Went back to points from HEI, Went from computer controlled carb to a junkyard non-comp controlled Qjet..runs GREAT.

    My questions are
    1. With going back to points, did i lose power? I have OEM points/condensor, Bluestreak Rotor/cap, OEM 7MM wires Superstock Coil.

    2. Where do i hook up the vacuum modulator line for the tranny to the carb? My tranny shifts from 1st to 2nd at 6500ish rpm, from 2nd to 3rd at 2200 rpm. Fluid is clean. I've been manual shifting but sometimes when i upshift, if i'm not turning at least 4k rpm i won't catch the gear.

Besides that..um. Im glad to have the nova running again, it is my daily driver, very very mild rust (original FL car) and it was only $150!.

    1. In every ignition shoot-out I've seen, there was maybe a 5 hp difference between the worst and the best.

    2. The modulator plugs into full manifold vacuum.

Well thank you. That helps me out alot. Keeps me from spending $150 on a new HEI system and when i find out which port that is, i'll plug my modulator into it and hope the tranny works a little better. lol

    Thanks so much
