vette won't start
I recieved a 68 vette as a gift from my father in law, it''s a 427 big block, 4-speed. it was running fine but seldomly used. when i recieved it , it sat outside with a cover but outside. with all of this rain i think it might have gotten moist under the hood. the other day i tried to start it and when i did it would stall when i gave it gas, i changed the in line fuel filter today, checked the cap and points but all it will do is turn over. i need help!

did it stall when you gave it gas full on at 1ce or gradually increasing rpm?.You don't know what you've got til it's gone

check for a weak spark, if it has 1, then get a condensor for the points system, they are a good culprit with weak sparking, and cheap, also, a ign system requires more voltage/ spark at higher rpm's, which could count for the sputtering also, and theres a chance that because the condensor was going bad, it compleatly went dead and that is why it won't start. if the spark is fine, look in to the fuel system as your problem, carb and fuel pump mainly. You don't know what you've got til it's gone
