1970 350 engine tuning
I have a 1970 C-20 longhorn pickup with 350, the compression is 165. I have just installed cam/lifters, timing chain and heads. It also has a edelbrock performer rpm dual plane manifold, edelbrock perfomer carb 750 cfm and headers.
specs:
LS9 350
CAM: CLEVITE 229-1730 S2019
DURATION @.050" INT. 204
EXH 214
DURATION 270
280
LOBE SPREAD 112
VALVE LIFT .420
.443
CAM LIFT .280
.295
HEAD SPECS: #882
1.90 INT
1.50 EXH
Any comments on this setup are welcome, also need timing info.

thats the same specs as the engine i had in my 2dr malibu. i agree with the 600 carb and 34* timing. ran good in my car like that80 MALIBU WAGON driver project
74 CAMARO drag car project

I would agree. you can go down in carb or go up in cam.
I would go with a crane cams cam kit. they can be had for $100.
and $30 or less for gaskets.
the cam specs
Lift: .454''/.454''
Duration: 272°/272°
RPM Range: 2000-5000
thinking of the gaskets. did you use the manifold end seals when you installed the intake?
the seals that come with the gaskets need to be in the trash can and not on the engine.
Thank you Roger. .
