    Angry still cant get the car to idle!

     



    tweaked around with the car 3 differnt carbs about 10 differnt combo's and it still will NOT idle in gerar. idles fine till you drop it into gear itll go from a grand-1100 to 9-8-7-6-5 dies every time. WHAT THE HELL! the converter is not locking up because u can still flash it SO WHY THE F*^k! ....someone gimme an idea before i go stir crazy,,,whoops already happened

    built t-350 with a hughes 9 inch 4500 stall. no trans brake

    Does it have a vacuum modulator on it? Sounds like you have a serious vacuum leak.

    going to rebuild a 600 dbl pumper see if that works because going upa nd up aint going to solve it. it needs to be conservative it hink 750 was to much

    Scooter, I'd start out with no bigger than 66 jets in the primaries. The 400 I had the 650 dp and the Isky 30/30 in ended up with 64's in the primaries and I think they were a bit large.

    seems like the 750 was it but i think its to dang big. i did that funky equasion rpmxcubes/3456 it came out to like 639

    I think your engine will be a lot happier with a smaller carb, keep us posted.

    Some times when the power valve is blown it causes the symptoms that you speak of..... Also, you might want to try a numerically lower power valve, such as a 4.5 or 5.5. (I think the stock one is a 6.5). This translates into the richening circuit delaying it's activation. With a large cam, vacuum is rare therefore you need to adjust a holley in this are.

    It sounds as if your car is flooding itself at idle. The problem with the rpm dropping is that you have less of a vacuum signal each one hundred rpm it drops, therefore it keeps on richening the mixture.
    Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.
