Help with my 502 ramjet
Hi guys, My first post. I'm having trouble with my
502 ramjet bbc. It stumbles and dies when it gets hot.
Not hot enough to overheat, but with the a/c on in the
summer heat it just quits. I know that it is heat related,
so my question is, Is there something in the computer
that tells the engine to shut off above a certain temp??
If I wait 5 minutes it starts right back up until it gets
hot again then stumbles and shuts off. I thought at first
it was vapor lock, but that doesn't make sense in a F.I.
motor. Any Ideas would help. Thanks.
Jon.

Hi Jon, Welcome to the board! .... This is a great site, as you'll see ;O)..... Although I have no idea how to solve your current problem & I'm certainly not saying that no one here can't answer your question as there are many extreemly intellegent car guys/gals here. But what I do know is that Sallee Chevrolet has a question/answer board that has a lot of info on the 502. I was considering getting one for awhile and I read a bunch about them there...... hope this helps ya, & again, WELCOME bill

Update on my problem. Turns out that my fuel pump, when running on low speed(has a step down speed control that reads engine rpm) heats up and heats the fuel to a point that causes vapor lock or pump cavitation, but when in "full speed" mode it runs cool and does not overheat at all. Talking to aeromotive to see if I need to replace the pump of the controller.
Thanks,
Jon.
Thank you Roger. .
