Ignition Help
Ok its not quite engine tunning but yesterday i got a MSD 6AL box for free and was wondering how to check it to make sure it still works/works correctly, it came out of this guys race car and still has all the wiring, but i have no idea where to start to test if its still good or will work, thanks for the help

to do that check wouldnt that require that i have an MSD dist. to plug it into? this i dont have i just have the box atm..1948 Ford F1: 12.99 @104 *New Best*

Install it, not much to it, grab a plug wire and stick your finger up in the boot.
Get someone turn the engine over.
If your hair burns, it's working!

You can use either the white wire or the purple/green pair of wires to trigger for testing. Apply power to the box and place the coil wire close to a ground (frame, motor, etc) and tap the white wire to ground... every tap should give you a spark. For the purple/green pair, use a jumper (I use a paperclip) to short the two together. You should get a spark when the jumper is open.
As Denny said above... go to MSD website and you'll find the instruction sheet
