I have been building a few of the 331/347 latley and I just got done looking at a certain Mustang forum and every one and their brother has a 331/347 that runs low 11's with 3.55/3.73 gears naturally aspirated make 500+ hp on pump gas.
The all claim to have hyd. roller cams,CNC'd 225 cc AFR heads etc.
What I am trying to say is I'am glad most of the people on this forum have a grasp on reality.

i'd love to build something other than a 331 or a 347 for my mustang, but without some massaging and cutting i cant build a bigger powerhouse than that.... i could squeeze a 351 with the 427 stroker kit in there.... but thats a very pricey build...

the problem with those guys is they all think they're cool cause they've got a 5.0 mustang.... but i really couldn't care less about the body style, ugly as hell
just because your car is faster, doesn't mean i cant outdrive you... give me a curvy mountain road and i'll beat you any day

Eric -you said it best the other day, you cant beleive all you read in mags. The dummys dont realize that most of those guys get parts thrown at them to test.

Well it is slow in the shop so I thought I would check out the other Ford forum.
Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water.
They have someone on there that has a stock 5.0 block, stock cast crank, now they have a hdy. roller cam and they are turning the engine to 8,500 rpm's,yes I said hyd. roller making 600 hp on pump gas with out a blower nitrous etc. and the car is running 10.2's.
What bothers me the most is everyone eats this up with a spoon and pats each other on the back.
Have people gotten that stupid or do they believe everthing they read?
    WHY, WHY,!!
Yes,I have heard of bench racing but give me a break.
I always lie the other way.
    In other words if I have a 496 I will tell people I have a 396.

As you're aware, in bench racing the first liar doesn't stand a chance!!

We've (okay, probably more me than anyone else) ranted on here before about people quoting hp or other performance perceptions based on use of the Levi's dyno. Pure b.s., but sometimes entertaining if you take it with a grain of salt.

As for other forums, on one of the Ford truck forums, had some guy come unglued because I used "fleetside" instead of "styleside" when referring to a Ford pickup box!!!!! It was worse then if I had called his mother names.... Brand loyalty is one thing, but brand blindness is stupidity. Anyway, sure an glad folks here are a lot more tolerant and not so dang nit-picky!!!

And yes, I did post a suitable reply!!!!!
