    Carburetor Jetting

    Well, unto the next chapter.

I have the Edelbrock 1405 (600CFM) Carb on my Nova currently that was feeding the 305. As some of you know, I just put together my 355 with some 180CC Dart Iron Eagles and an RPM Air Gap.

Can I rejet this carb to feed this motor? I don't plan on revving past 5800 RPM or so. If that.

If so, what metering rods and jets should I go for?

    Thanks,
    -Rob

(Edelbrock is closed untill Jan. 1st, so I thought I'd ask here )

Most Edelbrock carbs are factory jetted to be pretty close for a 350 Chevy. That's most likely what they will be used on. After that, it's trial and error to get it dialed in for your engine.

Here's the Edelbrock carb tuning site.

    http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive/eps_intro.html

You oughta be able to "Get er' Done" by following what they have to say.

    Like R.Pope says, it's probably jetted for a 350.
You can find the rod and jet sizes as installed by the factory in the manual.

I understand both Holley and Carter/Edelbrock come jetted about 5% rich for the expected engine size the carb will go on.
Even so, give the factory sized stuff a go before you start changing things.
