setting the idle on a 750 double pumper???
....Hi all, How do I adjust the idle on a 750 double pumper??? Do I adjust the linkage or is there a setting on the carburator??? Thanks, Bill

.....having trouble with this! .... I turned the two screws on each side of the carb that it showed in the Holly web site picture. It didn't do anything but now my car seems to run rich. Did I turn the wrong screws??? THANKS Bill

Are you sure that you turned the idle mix screws? The idle mix screw is on Figure 4 just under the "timed spark vacuum port". There is one on
each side of the metering plate. Turn the screw in until it is LIGHTLY
seated and then turn it out 1 1/2 turns. This will get you in the ball park.
Next, set your idle speed using the screw on the linkage. Then, go back
to the idle mix and turn one IN until you see the engine slow down on your tach....turn it back out just enough for the engine to speed back up.
Caution! Later model holley idle mix screws are backwards.....they start in the "out" position!! Make sure your "list" number on the air horn matches the instructions.

.....Thanks Mike, yeah I was just adjusting the two rich/lean screws & not the screw on the linkage. Daaaa, wake up Bill! Anyway it's idleing fine now.... Although I prefer the sound when the idle is set really low {sounds like a HUGE cam} it won't stay running! So I set it to around 600 RPM..... Thanks again Bill
