2 barrel Holley carb problems
I have a 430 MEL engine with a 2 barrel inlet and a 2300 2 barrel Holley on top. The engine starts fine and ticks over with no problem and also pumps ok under acceleration but will not run under cruise conditions it is searching and hunting and just a horrible drive, I have cleaned the float chamber and set the float up I have taken the metering block off and cleaned that and blown through the passage ways but has not made any difference, even tried putting the metering block on from a parts only 4 barrel I have, before I go and get a new carb I was wondering if anyone has any idea’s what else to try.
Cheers

Your "hunting" is lean surge. Jet it richer.

Has it always done this or did it just start doing it?What if the "Hokey Pokey" is what it's really all about?

Do you have the black solid nitrocellulouse floats?
They tend to sink over time and the engine floods when running due to the overly high float level.
Most parts houses carry replacements or can get them.C9

But it is working now so the points/condenser must have been starting to break down?
