    carb problems

ive got an HP 4150 series 830 cfm holley. i suspected a minor vacum leak and changed all vacum lines and the base gasket on the carb. after reassymbly the accelerator pumps, primary and secondary are pumped up stiff and will not throw fuel out the top squirters. i removed the carb and removed the pumps, reassymbled and they were then freed up. until the bowls were full then they froze up again and no fuel through the squirters. now 2 weeks ago the 1/8 roll pin broke off the distributor drive gear and i had a HUGE backfire through the carb. but i have driven the car since then and everything was fine. and i am sure the HP carbs have the power valve backfire protection already in the carb. i am over the cliff on this one and finally just walked in and cut the lights in the sanctuary to take a breather for the upcoming 15th round, any help would be greatly appreciated and could save me hundreds in co-pays for my rapidly approaching stint!

well here are a couple pictures, the pump discharge needle valve i can see , but am not sure how to get it out. also i think that the odds of both primary and secondary check balls lodging shut is high, but anything is possible. is there a check ball that controls both primary and secondary main feed? when i removed the bowls i pumped the accel pumps and plenty of fuel shot a good distance out. if you want any more shots let me know and i will shoot them, and of coarse i had a holley 4150 book but loaned it out and it is now missing in action, thanks in advance for your help.

thanks denny you are a nerve saver, i did all you said and it works like a champ. my needles would not fall out but when i sprayed carb cleaner through the passages they fell out. also the 3rd jet down in the pic was chewed up from someone and a screwdriver, i cleared it with weld wire to open it back up, many thanks again!
