    Choke and timing

     



    Well its time for me to time my engine, they said when i ordered my crate engine that it was timed and ready to go they were full of it.. What do yall guys do to get TDC and get everything timed and ready to go.?? And were exactly do i hook my electric choke up too?

    I turn it over till the valves are both just open, one opening, the other closing,that's split overlap, TDC one full revolution from TDC compression. Then time it to the cylinder directly across the dist. cap.
    The electric choke wire goes to any wire controlled by the ignition switch, except the one to the coil.

    could i just wire the choke to a switch and turnm it on when im starting the truck cus there is no wiring in my treuck except for my Painless switchbox

    Any electric choke I've had required power to it full time, there's a heating element to pull the choke open and keep it there. Switching it separately from the ignition switch won't work.
