    I will check the plugs. The vac is 19" and had relatively no change while adjusting until it got to the point where it wanted to die (lean).

    Should the dist adv vac hose come off of the carb or directly from the manifold?

    The vac. advance should come from manifold vacuum. If you connect it to the carb, just make sure it is on a port below the throttle blades.
