wont start!
sbc 350 with factory TBI and jet chip
cam 214/224 @.050 .443/.465 112LSA 97LCL
intake closes at 57.
2.02/1.60 valves with 1.5 rockers
9.63 SCR 8.13 DCR
plug gap set at 0.035
This is a brand new build. I am having trouble getting it to start. New distributor,cap,rotor coil,plugs and wires. It seems to want to fire just slightly and then will fire through the exhaust occasionally. I have checked the firing order to be 18436572. I have tried starting with timing retarded, straight up and advanced. I seem to get more as I advance it but still will not actually start. I am getting a nice fat spark but still nothing. I checked valve adjustment and lash. I have fuel, compression and spark. I figured that it must then be ignition timing related but still nothing. In our neighborhood, 2 blocks down the hill was a gas station that (to me) all the cool car guys hung out there. 32 coupes, 33 & 34 Fords as well, a sweet 56 Ford Beach wagon that was setup gasser...
