    carter carbs

What is the actual difference between and Edelbrock carb and a CarterAFB carb? I know I had many carter carbs on my early chevy small blocks and have used the edelbrock on the same. There both similar looking and the metering rods look the same and have used rebuild kits for both that seem to fit both carbs.
Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

37 the late Carter and Edelbrocks are almost identical, and step rods, jets springs, gaskets etc interchange.

The only real difference I know of is the Carters had a check valve and passage from the fuel bowl to the accelerator pump well, and the Edelbrocks fill from a slot on the side of the well.
I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....
