Holley 4500 Series Metering Block Help
I am brand new to this forum, and recently purchased my first Chevy big block car--a 1978 Corvette with a 427. It is streetable, but set up with a Ford 9", ladder bar, and a roller 427 with Nitrous.
I am in the process of freshening up the car--ie new heim joints/coil overs, front end alignment, new alum. water pump, etc.
My question is this: I have a 9973 Holley 1150 Dominator on a Dart manifold, and it seems to really load up on fuel with anything off idle. I just put in a fresh set of plugs, as the ones that were in there were way to cold. This helped, but there is no power valve in the primary metering block, and no provision for it. Can I just pick up a billet metering block from Proform, etc. that has a power valve, and adjust it accordingly?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am looking to make it a bit more streetable.

looking at your post looks like it was set for KILL with the Nos cold plugs and abit fat and you should look at timing thats is i bet pull way back to but if you tune it lean just look out for the melting pistons and blown head gaskets if you hit the NOsLast edited by pat mccarthy; 08-06-2008 at 09:35 PM.
