454 issues...
i just built up a .030 over 454 and haave some small tuning issues. when you are driving down the road, you can feel a miss, but it doesnt pop out the exhaust. i came home, checked the timing, and it was on ( 10 degrees),so i checked the plugs. they are all light brown. i have a vacuum gauge in the car, and when you are driving it reads a steady 20 inches. at idle it waves from 15 -18 inches. i changed plugs, cap and rotor. it has a pertronix "eye" in a point style distributor, and a vacuum advance that maxes out at 20 inches of vacuum. does this sound like a bad distributor? i am lost on this one!

Is it a "bounce" on the vacuum gauge or just slow movement? You say "a miss"...does it feel like it drops a cylinder for a second? Do you feel this just on acceleration? Or steady speed?

it moves kind od slow, but it " bounces " fronm one to the other reading. i feel it when cruising, not under a heavy load i can accelerate above it and it doesnt seem to be as bad, but still there. at low speed you can hardly hear or feel at all. you can hear it kind of breaking up while cruising. not as bad as a total dropp in power
i did put it in park, pull off the filter, and run it to 2k. nothing...... it only happens under load.
Thank you Roger. .
