Big block Buick 430 motor
I may be given a generous gift this year sometime. A one owner garage kept 1967 Buick Wildcat 2 dr vinyl top with every factory option. Car has somewhere in the range of 50K on the motor that has never been opened up.
If I get this car Id like to use it 3x a week or so as my daily driver. My worry is the big bore, short stroke 430 cid engine is out of the factory at 10.5:1 compression ratio. The motor is rated at 475 ft lbs @ 3200 rpm, and I think the HP rating is 360.
I live on the panhandle of Florida (Santa Rosa Beach, which is next to Destin), and it does get quite humid in the summer time. Can this motor survive on pump gas and maybe some lead additive?
Thanks in advance for any replies.
