    Orange county is going off the air maybe we can work a deal.. JERRY . i am thinking a HOT ROD ENGINE/CAR BUILDING . GHOST/UFO HUNTTING FOOD EATING SHOW .I THINK IT WILL WORK

    Pat I'd watch your show over orange county choppers any day! First season was cool, when they were new and not so cocky. A friend of mine is related to Vinnie. She said he quit the show because Paul Sr. and Jr. wouldn't give Cody health insurance when he started working for them full time out of high school. These guys were making millions, but to tight to provide for their own, kind of makes you wonder! If you go to wikipedia it say's they quit the show for unknown reasons!

    seems like you guys know what you are talking about, you cannot burn the fuel without the right amount of air ,do you remember when the fiero first came out they had an aftermarket body kit that had a snorkel that stood up taller than the roof to feed the engine, i hope with all the rich carb problems have not compromised the rings and bearings , maybe with the scoop it would run right, all i know about fieros is that if the 4 cylinders run out of oil the rods shoot out of the block and the car catches fire, i seen quite a few back in the 90s when a lot of them were sitting on the roadside with just the rear burned?? car building food show, i would watch ,

    There is a lowpressure/vacume area behind the back glass THAT will effect carb--it will cause the power valve to open and feed too much fuel and the carb will be very erratic acting differently at different vehicle speeds

    Put some bright colored yarn around the different areas of the car and video at moderate speeds( It might take 80mph to get a good representation of where the air wants to go)

    If you want I will come to Me. and work on it for 2 hours for $1000 plus travel expenses
    ok To address some of this.

    the exhaust has been fixed an two pipes are running in to a set of glass packs there is only about two feet of exhaust. how ever long a set of glass packs are an then about 8inches after that. the headers come off the motor an face forwardin stead of backwards they face the front of the car which is why im running the pipes out the front of the back wheels.

    the pump has been replaced by a stock oem pump an it puts out 5 PSI of pressure. the old pump was leaking in to the crank case on to the rod thats how the fuel was getting in the motor. The oil has been changed an it seems to be pretty good since then. I tested the cylinders the other week an the all tested between 175 an 180.

    I am goin to change the carb once again. I finally found a quadrajett that has been refurbished an is only 4 years old the guy gave me all the paper work with it he had it on a 400 small block that was used in a plow truck. since it is the stock oem part it should work with out a problem. he said he bought it an put it on an it worked. an it should do the same for me.

    I have the timming set off the crank at 8 degress cause thats what I was told was stock. right now I just want the car to run not proform great if you know what i mean. the motor sets to the passanger side about two inches so the exhaust could run out the back of the car thats why the air breather mount plate is off set so it still comes out the center of the hood. the old car was leaking like a bastard from around the gaskests. it had two spacers to get it to hook up to the edelbrock tourquer manifold that I have. I replaced all the spacers with just a square bore to spread bore adaptor. the other plate that was being used waht to level the carb an it was like 4 inches high Dont need it so I dont want it. I thought about just putting a huge ram air right on the trunk an having it come up over the hook but a bunch of people told me that it would do nothing for me but make my car look retarded with a 15 inch shaker on it an I would gain nothing. maybe they were wrong thats why I came to this forum. you all seem to be very well knowlegeable with these things. and I am slowly trying all of your ideas.

    I wish I could afford to have you come out an check this out for me but Im laid off right this second thats why this is taking so long to do. but the lobster I could do for you. LOL I would love to see if some tv show would be intrested in checking this thing out for me but 1) I dont have the funds to do that2) No one really is intrested in fieros Ive been driving a fiero for years an I get more negative remarks then anything if that was the case a show like pimp my ride or power block or overhaulin or shit pinks would be calling fiero x up an having him race his 3800 turbo charged car that runs a low 10 second quarter an is regarded as the fastest fiero that is road leagal on the road today 4) im no were near a place like california were all those shows take place. Im even surprised I've gotten the help from all of you guys its been huge. most people say thats a waste of a good motor. you guys have been priceless with all the ideas an info. so untill overhauling or powerblock calls me your the next best thing

    Ok so I've got almost everything sorted out an the car is running pretty good. I am using the holley 600 an the car runs fine at a idle an what not. I have the timming advanced like crazy. 25 degrees or so an it is like crazy off a line. it drives great till bout 50 miles an hour an then it starts back firing while driving at speed. but at slower speeds it has crazy power. theres no pinging or anything but it has alot of popping an what not while driving at normal speed. If you guys have any idea's im all ears

    I'm soryy you may have written it some where in here but what kind of ignition are you using and what distributor? It almost sound like problems with a MSD or distributor.
    Is there a rev limiter, I had a Tack that had a red line rev limmiter in it and it shorted out and started doing that at about 4,000 RPM's. Also check it real good for some loose wires to the Ignition system. Kurt
