I have always used Melling oil Pump's for many Year's . And they make the Housings for most of the other Brands Boxed and Sold . Lately Melling has had some Bad Rap on Failed Housings Reported ? But I wounder if Some of that Damage is Caused from improper installment of the Pick up Tube ? I have always Like their M55A Z/28 Pump . Now they are saying not for High Performance use ? For Performance They make what they call their Select Pump's with Bolt on Pick-up tube .Wisdom is acquired by experience, not just by age

I've also always used Melling. Never had any problems and generally I run just a stock pump instead of a high volume.

The Melling / Z/28 Pump M55A is a Stock volume pump but has a Slightly Higher PSI Spring installed Just Like The G.M Z/28 pump were . They really are all you will need for a Street/strip Engine . If needed and used the High volume Pump's are best to also have a Larger capacity Oil Pan .Wisdom is acquired by experience, not just by age
