Is it possible to adjust rochester carb, 84 silverado
I bought a 84 silverado that is in original condition ,down too the original catylitic converter. Its about a 30lb monster. Nothing has been moved or even touched it seems. So , I was thinking on keeping it that way but know stock SUCKS,LOL. I know in my 89 model you can remove factory plugs to find the adjustments and wondered if the rochester was possibly the same. ThanksFriends dont let friends drive fords!

Yes, all rochester carbs that year have plugs you remove to adjust the screws. You will also want to check the adjustment of the metering rods ( the MC Solenoid ). Thexton makes a nice inexpensive kit of tools for checking mc metering rod adjustment. This is on both the Quadrajet and the Duojet.Last edited by Weasel Diesel; 12-30-2009 at 08:25 AM.
