400 stumbles going into 2nd gear./Holley
Hey fellas I have a new sbc 400 425 HP with a Holley 4160 vacuum secondaries carb and a edelbock eps intake. Just reinstalled the engine and everything seems cool until I get into 2nd gear, it just stumbles. I don't have the rest of the exhaust hooked up to the headers yet but it's there. the car accelerates nice and idles nice and tough but it just almost seems to flood out around 40mph. Any suggestions. The car wants to almost die with the brakes depressed when cruising to a stop. The car has a 350 turbo tranny w/shift kit. the car idles nice at 800 to 1100 RPM.

Have you set the floats on the carb yet? What cam setup do you have, duration, lobe seperation. How much vacuum at idle, might need to change the power valve.

A little more info might be good. However, without the exhaust hooked up, you will be running lean lean lean. Hook up the exhaust and then try it. Is this same combo the one you used to have?Objects in my rear view mirror are a good thing unless,.... they have red and blue lights flashing.
