HELP!!! tripower tuning
Hi,
I have a factory 68' 427 vette. Can somebody please help me with the tuning setup.
I need to know the following.
Contact points gap.
dwell
timing Adv/retart degrees
I just had the car tuned at so called Hotrod builder/mechanic but the car is running worse than when i took it there.
Its feeling really flat, and not much up high. Before it use to really pull up top end, but now it just feels like it's only running on two carbies.
I'm thinking that they just set it up for standard bigblock settings and not a performance built427.
Any help that anybody can give with making this car get up and go would be great.
One other thing that they did was install a really heavy throtle return spring which has made it really shit to drive. They said that they installed this because when they tuned it, they couldn't get the idle to come down to where they wanted it due to the middle carby not shutting all the way off.
They said that the carbies need new throttle arm bushings.
Thanks for any help in advance.

If they didn't set the carbs with a Vaccuum balance bar, then they are not set correctly. Some of the chebbie guys here will help you on the timing, Dwell angle should be 28 to 32 degrees unless it is a dual point distributor.Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!
