Correct way to eliminate vacuum advance on an HEI
I have heard from so many people that i should eliminate my vacuum advance since i race it more than anything. Im not worried about gas mileage or anything like that but i was just wondering which way i should do this since i heard like 3 different ways. DO i actually have to pin the advance or can i just plug carb and advance after disconnecting and setting timing, and are there any benefits to doing this?? thanks

In at least some distributors the vacuum diaphragm holds the breaker plate in place. If you remove it, the plate can rotate. Once you recurve the distributor for full manual advance, just remove the vacuum hose and plug the connection point at the carburetor.
PatOf course, that's just my opinion, I could be wrong!

Thanks for the replies, i guess i will just plug it and leave it be unless it gives me any trouble.
