JUST FYI...I am not a transport company like someone accused me of here yesterday. I am just trying to help anyone looking for space to get their car back from the end of the power tour, so please don't accuse me of "drumming up free biz one here" because I am not.
Thanks
A group of us have hired two 6 place ENCLOSED semi trucks from Blue Highways Transport with 4 spots remaining to fill. Blue Highway is a top notch operation. I spoke with the owner myself this morning and he normally does not go to Florida, but since we are taking 2 trucks he is doing it for us. The reason we picked them is because he OWNS his own trucks, and the actual owner got on the phone with me and was actually pleasant to deal with, unlike half the idiot brokers and operators I spoke with trying to figure out who to use. Not to mention after having a conversation with a friend, he was highly recommended to me. They do a lot of hauling for Ford Motor Company for "special" events etc...
Each truck has Air Ride Suspension, Satellite tracking and cell phones. These are state of the art transporters and to see them just go to www.bluehighways.net. The cars will make a direct route back to Chicago and will NOT be stopping to pick up or drop cars anywhere else/from anyone else in the country since we have the trucks full already. I just called back and asked him about dropping at points in between and if you live between Florida and Milwaukee you can also get in, but it MUST be on the way to keep the cost as good as we have it. The route back will be thru Atlanta, Nashville, Louisville, Indy, then Chicago and he said he would even drop in Milwaukee for the same price. The truck can go as far as Green Bay, but that would be extra.
Anybody interested or if you have questions about hauling their car back and hoping on a flight back home please e mail me @ ScootinZ@aol.com or call my cell phone @ 630-202-6612 and ask for Kurt. DO NOT mail me on the boards here as I will not be checking the mail or these boards as often as my personal e mail. The cars will be loaded on the 11th in Kissimmee and be brought back to the Chicago area 3-4 days later. That will all depend on the drivers log book and how many hours he has logged at the point of loading. But the trip back will be direct like I said.
We found flights on Spirit Air for under 200 bucks back to O'Hare leaving Florida the evening of the 11th and there is still availability as of today.
This will be on a first come first serve basis. The cost is $670 per vehicle (no profit....this is OUR COST) hauled back to Chicago/milwaukee.
We had 2 leftover spots on the first truck and they WENT FAST and now we need those 2 spots and so were getting another truck...so if you have any specific questions please either drop me an e mail or feel free to call my cell phone.
Thanks, and see ya's all on the tour!!!
