WLR Presents Cruisin' Into The '50s This Friday May 27th...
Whiskey Lake Raceway I-70 at Exit 301 then north 100 feet to Whiskey Lake Road.
Roger Thompson owner/promoter 785-598-2417
WLR will host a 1950's theme program in rememberance of those great old times. '50s music will fill the air and a dance contest will be held during intermission. A $50. dollar cash prize will be awarded to the couple selected as the crowd favorite.
In addition, anyone arriving in a 1950s style car...hot rod, lead sled, pick-up or motorcycle built between 1930-1959 and dressed in '50s style clothing will receive free admission! Anyone wearing '50s style clothing but coming in a later model "ride" will be admitted for $5.dollars. Regular prices are $8.dollars for adults and $3.dollars for kids under 12 and older kids (seniors). 50 cents buys a Hot Dog at the concession stand.
The star class will be two-person Cruiser cars. In addition and by popular demand by racers...the Hornet class claim rule has been suspended thus allowing for the use of Mini-Stocks and Mini-Trucks. Other classes include IMCA-sanctioned Modifieds, unsanctioned Modifieds, Street Stocks and Hobby Stocks.
A fast smooth and damp track (not sloppy-wet as I hid the keys to the water trucks) is expected with an abundance of family fun.
Thank you and regards,
