Hot Rod Cafe's River City Rod Run...

    Hey Northwest CHR members...

Was thinking about going to the River City Rod Run sponsored by the Hot Rod Cafe in Post Falls, ID. Have any of you been to this event? If you have can you give me any insight on it like what to do, what not to do kinda thing? My wife and I stopped off at the cafe on the way back from Yellowstone and I heard about it then. I think it is the weekend after the 4th of July. We were thinking about taking our motorhome and trailering the car so we would need a good RV park or campground.

    Anybody???

    Thanks,
    Greg

Never have heard anything about it Greg. Sounds like it would be a good time. Taking the motorhome and trailering the car would definitely be the way to go for a long weekend. How about just do a google search for Post Falls and see if area campgrounds show up on there????

I haven't gotten the skinny on that one- we go to Long beach for the Beach Barons run every year for the fourth, and jump over to Astoria with the NTBA after that to run to Seaside for the show.
We use KOA, I'm sure that there's one there if not one close.
Do's & Don'ts- Do take extra fuel & beer, don't run over the dogs.
Do relax and meet people- don't be too trusting.
    Is your trailer enclosed?
TAKE LOT'S OF PICTURES & post them here...lol
    Just have fun......

I have some friends that go down from British Columbia every year.It can`t not be a great one with all the "cars" in that part of Idaho and Wash.State.Another run to check out is GoodGuys in both Spokane (15mins from HotRod Cafe) and also in Puyallup Wash. Both are super good events.A lot of forum members live in that area,so I`d like to say Hi to them.Super fine rodders.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR

I recommend it. I've only been to it once and it was great. My opinion might be a bit biased since I'm only 30 miles away though.

Thanks guys... I'll do some checking to find a good campground. I am definetly going to the show so I'll post pic's afterwords. We are going with our friends (who also are taking a motorhome) and they have a sweet '28 Mod A 2-door sedan so it will be a good time! It is always fun to go with friends that share the same hobby and interests. I've posted pic's of their car before but I'll post another here. Maybe we'll see some of you local folks over there?

Re-visit the Hot Rod Cafe Show...

    Hi all,

We made it back from the River City Rod Run in Post Falls, ID in one piece! There were 700+ cars registered but I don't think that many were actually at the show. Rob Elder from the Hot Rod Cafe does a great job organizing this show. Foghat, John Kay & Steppenwolf and Queiit Riot were the entertainment headliners and the bikini contest wasn't to bad either! It was in the mid to upper 90's all weekend but it didn't matter as the venue was perfect.

The only problem with the whole weekend... my '37 broke down on the side of the road on Sunday so we did not make the last day of the show! After doing some troublshooting it looks like the culprit is the module in the HEI system. Oh well, stuff happens and at least it didn't do it on Friday!

    C YA,

    Greg
