New event in S. Colorado 7/12/08
I know it's early, but I figured I'd let everyone know, so they could check their calendars.FAST FRIENDS, the charity I started, is putting on the 1st Annual Hot Rod Homecoming on July 12, 2008 in Alamosa, CO at the county fairgrounds. It's open to everyone, whatever they drive (or ride). Bikes, cars, trucks, whatever.
It's a fundraiser to help out families of really sick kids in the area. There will be a poker run, then a blessing of the cars/bikes in the arena with an Indian medicine man presiding, a full-blown motorcycle rodeo, a fun gymkhana for the cars, games for the kids, games for the adults, live music all day, great food, prizes, fun for the entire family. If we get a large enough response early, a local bar says they'll bring in a band for an after-event dance.
All FAST FRIENDS events are family-friendly, and kids are encouraged. We don't sell beer at our events for that reason, but discreet drinking in the parking lot, etc. will be ignored, unless it becomes a problem. Our events are geared towards having FUN! The Winter Wipeout on March 1 was a great success, due partly to generous members of the HAMB donating artwork, time, and effort. We firmly believe this event on July 12 will be a blast, and hope some of you will decide to check it out. Any clubs want to come up? We'll make a travelling trophy for the club with the most members present. There will be vendor spaces available, and great food all day. a couple pinstripers have expressed an interest in setting up in the fairgrounds, too. Anyone wanting more info, wanting to perform, rent vendor space, whatever, call me or email me. I'll respond asap.

You're welcome Mike, glad it worked out for you. Roger, it's taken a few years but my inventory of excess parts has shrunk a fair bit from 1 1/2 garage stalls to about an eight by eight space. ...
