British visitor - Which US shows?
Hello everyone.
I will be visiting the USA, from the UK, for a short period in 2010 & would very much like to fit in a good US hot/street rod event. As usual there are a few preferences & I would be very grateful for any suggestions as to which shows I would be best choosing from.
My preferences:
1. A vast (!!!) display of hot rods T's through to the muscle car era although my interest gets less as you get past 1960 .
2. Preferably incorporating classic drag racing.
3. I am a truck nut but appreciate all hot/street rods.
4. Preferably not July or August and Spring is preferable to Autumn.
5. Not too hot but sunny & dry! In the UK we rarely get above 80f & medically days in 100 degree temperatures is not something that my doctor would recommend.
4. Preferably near a gateway airport that has UK flights.
I have noted the numbers of cars attending on the Goodguys & NSRA sites but that doesn't tell the whole story.
Suggestions please.
Chris

The first thing that comes to mind is The Street Rod Nationals. I think it is in Kentucky, though there are other NSRA events around the country.
