I should mention that this is being organized by NSRA here in NZ.
They also organized the recent Rods on the Waterfront in Tauranga.

An update from Sarbie.
Yes it is official, NSRA Turangi have a green light from the local authorities. Planning is well underway. We will be staging the event on McLaren park in the centre of town plus we will be running a Classic Car and Hotrod Show . The cars in the show will be eligible for trophies that will be voted on by the general public. Registration for the show will be open to the public and free to enter but we would like contestants to consider our donation box. The proceeds from the show will given to a local charity. Plots will be $10.00 per 6 x 6 Metre . Buyers Free. Proceeds from the plots will go to 2011 NSRA Nationals to be held in Turangi over Labour Weekend. We will also be running an evening social. The theme will be country & Western and Rockabilly. As for the ladies there will be a large market day held in the shopping mall adjacent to and in conjunction with the swap meet. More info on that as we work it out. The last swap meet in this area that I can remember was in Taumaranui about 25 years ago. I know there is a lot of neat stuff in garages around Turangi so there will be plenty in the surrounding areas too. Much of this stuff will be on sale for the first time. It will be a real gold mine. For example I know of one old chap that closed down his garage and workshop in the mid 80’s he shifted all his stock to a double garage in Turangi and locked it up. It’s all NOS and will be on sale at the swap meet. We have already had bookings for trade sites as well as some private sellers already booking accommodation. News travels fast. This is going to be a great annual event. For more info contact me here. I will be setting up an email address soon rather than getting my private one swamped. Stay tuned. Cheers Sarbie
