Be glad to meet you Lammy!
Now that the election is over, I think it's safe that we can begin to formulate a plan.
So what would you folks like to do? I think we've agreed with something in the central USA. But do the majority want to do a Good Guys show or NSRA show? Or maybe a race?? All of the above fit my style!! Where ever we decide, it needs an airport and hotels in a reasonable distance for obvious reasons.. SO let the drama begin!
Let's hear some ideas and if you know of a venue with a smaller show but high quality, let's hear that too! We just need some ideas for now!

Hmmm...
The wheels in my head are turning, turning...
We were already intending to make another trip to the States next year, and for us, September is a good time to do so.
If I were to talk sweetly to She Who Must Be Obeyed, perhaps we could work our entire trip around a CHR meeting...so long as there's a shopping arcade somewhere handy...She wouldn't have me hanging around outside with my 'I'm bored' expression...I could be off telling lies (something I'm pretty good at,) with you blokes...
Because I too would love to meet up with some of you guys!

It's not in the Fall, but one that I've always heard a lot about is the Back to the 50's Show in the Minneapolis/St Paul area June 21-23. Supposed to be a great gathering, and the Mall of America is in the area, too, but it's mid-summer. Another one a bit later that's intrigued me is Frog Follies in Evansville, Indiana August 23-25th - they claim the biggest pre-49 show anywhere with over 4000 entries each year since 2010. But if you want Fall, a friend went down for Cruisin' The Coast down in Mississippi - a week long event that drew over 6000 cars of all types this year, with the nightly cruises hosted by five or six different cities along the gulf coast - Cruisin' The Coast Just some ideas....Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Hot august nights in Reno could be a good venue. Although I personally would rather travel to a show I've never been to. I attend Reno every other year.

Unfortunately it's 'Fall or nothing' for us.
But; rest assured I'll do my durndest to work in with what/whenever is the consensus.
You can't let what one 'Bl**dy Kiwi' wants dictate the entire gathering.
Insofar as is possible...I'll go with the flow.
(Although I'm told only turds and dead fish go with the flow...)

Back to the 50's would be awesome! I haven't nade it there yet but am sure going to try this year. Another good one may be the Cruise to the Woods in Ft. Dodge Iowa. Any of you guys go to it? It's usually the first weekend in October and they have over 1200 cars and trucks each year. Next year is their 30th anniversary and it's going to be a 3 day event. What about Car Craft Super Nats in MN? I'm just throwing ideas out here..........Ryan

Here is a suggestion based upon observation.....everyone is "voting" for a meeting that is close to their home base (at least within a couple of hundred miles). Holding a get-together in New York will be great for the Northeast guys but impossible for the Southwest folks and vice versa. In these times, it will be tough for most to shell out several thousand dead presidents for a weekend trip....momma aint gonna approve.
Taking a cue from the large car organizations (like the Early Ford V8 Club), it might be more prudent to hold a series of REGIONAL get-togethers so there is a meet that is reasonable for everyone to attend. The logical solution is to piggyback onto the GoodGuys events (or the NSRA events or both). That way, IF only one or two persons showed up, they wouldnt spend the weekend bored...they could look at hot rods. Then, if there proved sufficient participation, a NATIONAL event could be coordinated and held in some later year. So, the first year would be regional meets held at the same time as some hot rod event.....this is similar to the SEMA show....several of us email and touch base at the show.
