Woodward Dream Cruise... who's going?
Hey fella's, is there anyone here planning on making the trek to the Woodward Dream Cruise August 21 in beautiful, unpredictable Michigan? If not, I'm sorry to say you will be missing the greatest car cruise event EVER!
The road is legendary and the event is as big as the legend. The cruise stretches from Pontiac to Ferndale which is about 20 miles (I'm guessing). It attracts in the ballpark of 1 million people and 15,000 vehicles (and that may be an understatement). If you have been to it in the past 9 years you know what I'm talking about. The few weeks leading up to the big day is a huge cruise in itself.
I'm busting my balls trying to get my starter and header's back on my 66 charger in time so I can take part. Time is ticking away.
If so, it would be cool to try — and I do mean try — to meet some of you folks."Now bring me those cheese sandwich appetizers you talked me out of."

im there
i honestly feel sorry for anyone who does not attend Woodward, it is honestly the best weekend of the year! me and a few friends have been going for the past 5 years and it never disappoints. and the estimated 15,000 cars is probably more than twice that. Not only is the saturday a good time but the whole weekend fun can be found in the right places. anyone who is even remotely close to detroit that weekend do yourself a favour and make the trip, because once you do you will look forward to it every year

You said it Chopped, all it takes is one time and you'll mark it on your calender ever year like you do Christmas and the first day of Spring. It truly is a not to miss event. If you like cars you will think you had left Earth for a few days and gone to heaven. And I dare anyone to say that they didn't see a particular make, model, year or radical style. It's all there... and more.
So, if you are planning on attending, look for me, I'll be in the Birmingham/Bloomfield Hills/ Pontiac area in my bright Red 1966 Charger. There aren't a lot of them so if you see one it's probably me. Plus, it's fun to go during the week because the cruising starts 3 weeks early.
Cee Ya there."Now bring me those cheese sandwich appetizers you talked me out of."

Oh yea, if there is anyone going here, do you know of a good spot to park without having to pay an arm and a leg, and the cops leave you alone? i know places charge $90 to $100 and give you a spot plus food and such, but I don't have $100 to throw around."Now bring me those cheese sandwich appetizers you talked me out of."

So, who was out at the cruise this year? Any good stories? I was across from Art Van on Sat. I think the Sh' Boom cars were a real treat to see!
