Stromberg 97 Help
I have 6 97s that were on an old Wiand Drag Star for a nailhead. This unit was laying in a barn for years before I bought it. All of the carbs are stuck. I'd like to get them free'd up. I want to make sure they are salvagable before I spend any $$ on them. They are not visibaly corroded and actually look rather clean.
Any suggestions?
Here's 4 of them setting on my Wiand Chevy manifold.

Contact Charlie Price @

Good prices on good kits, viton tipped needles.
Be sure to pull the emulsion tubes and clean out the air bleed holes.
I have no connection to him except he helped me get my Stromberg 81s running better than they had in 40 years.
Speedway Motors has stuff, too.Last edited by 60nut; 04-01-2005 at 03:17 PM.

Dump 'em in a bucket of solvent or Gunk and leave 'em for a week or so. Be very careful , they're fragile.
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
