this site is a perfect example of the way the part numbers work. 68 is the code for 1/2" and 56 is length in inches, so 6856 is a 1/2"X 56".

Belts aren't their listed length. If you measure your old belt with a tape measure, it'll be about 6" longer than what it lists .This is because of the device used to measure them, it has like a half a 3" pulley on each end that the belt goes over. Take your old belt to the store and compare.

It won't do me any good to take the old belt to the store as it is to short Because of my putting on offset on to make room for the suoer duel carb manifold. But thanks for the info on belt lenghts.
