    Rambler flathead

ok so I'm probably gonna get mocked for even mentioning that i own a rambler, but here we go... ok so i own a 61 rambler american convertable with a flat six, question is, was this an actual rambler made motor or did they use someone elses? if it is made by rambler, is there any bit of a parts following.... I've owned this car for 8 years and it had been sitting for 15 before i bought it so i'm tryin to find if its really even worth my time to keep the ol 6 in there or if i should just cut out the massive wheel wells and put a small block v8 in it

thanks for the info, i'm gonna try and investigate further into it... i was pretty suprised when i bought the car that a 61 had a flathead in it.... i was also suprised that it has a unibody and a frame, and that the fender wells take up 3/4s of the engine bay

We had a '62 Ramler American when I was in College. All three of us boys drove it at some time and it survivied us all. It had the "E-Stick" transmission. To my memory, the engine had "Continental" written on it somewhere--of course not Lincoln, but I think the company that made industrial engines for welders and such.

You may not want to put much faith in that "frame." Rambler back then advertised their cars were unibody constructed like tanks but I do not think that it took much rust to take one of them out. The engine pretty well out lived the body on ours.
