Question production 460 vs. max performance 460

i was talkin to a few builder around locally they were tellin me that i should think about a 460 max performance block. now i was thinking that 472 cid out of a 460 was a mild build. is there any reason i should be concerned about my block? i'm not positive on the cast #'s i know it came out of a 76 t'bird. it's going to be subjected to about 7 grand poundings or whatever it will pull to. i just think someone is tryin to get some extra cash correct me if i'm wrong i just don't want to buy another block if it's not needed. appreciate the help
