i have learned alot by listening to techinspector and paul kane. you guys don't know how much i appreciate your input. i read and article on a 460 and they did nothing to the bottom end. keep the dish pistons and didn't deck the block. they did use early d0ve heads though. and a head gasket thickness of .051 to give them a 8.8:1 c/r. the site is http://www.carcraft.com/techarticles/116_0008_ford/
if you would like to read and let me know what you think about their results. i liked the numbers that they ended up with and wondered what you thought about the setup. they had 433hp and 491 lb-ft and is set to run on 87 octane gas.

techinspector i would like to run this sinerio by you. let me know what you think. my 71 block has zero deck. stock pistons. which i believe are 22cc dish. i am going to put early heads on my block with a gasket thickness .050 bore 4.380. assuming heads have 76cc chambers. my squish is .050. i am coming up with a 9.54:1 c/R i like these numbers so that i can run 87-89 octane gas. this is not ever going down the track just want some pep in the lincoln. am i way off or does any of this make any sense. will this be a good setup in my 460. your opinion is greatly appreciated.
