Cylinder Heads
I have a 460 bored and stroked to a 501, and I think I need new heads. I am not sure what to go with, the expensive super cobra jet or redone dove heads. Would the dove heads be enough? This is a daily driver and also for the strip.

KB pistons with their "D" shaped dish will leave ample shelf on the piston crown to form good squish against the head.PLANET EARTH, INSANE ASYLUM FOR THE UNIVERSE.

well done techinspector. fel pro makes a gasket that is .042 compressed there are others that make thinner ones but i have heard bad things from about all of them except fel pro and cometic but the cometic gaskets must have gold imbedded in them or something for the price they want out of them. the kb pistons are $391 for the 22cc dish through PAW. if you already bought your pistons though tell us what you have and we may be able to come up with something else, such as flattops will need either D3VE heads or aluminum. if you are running the flattops i have a set of D3VE's sittin on my shelf i would part with i will say that you will not get the same power out of them but they can be made to flow enough to feed your beast.even a good thing can be made better

What heads are currently on the engine?
What vehicle is this going into?
Do you need to be able to run on pump gas without detonation?
What pistons are in your engine right now?
