    Question Damper Spacer

I am changing the timing chain on my 460. But I can't slide the damper spacer off the crank; there is a notch at the end of the crank in the way. HELP!

Is that "notch" a removable key for the pulley?

I t is most likely a woodruff key that is flat on top and round on the portion you do not see. You can sometimes tap one end and it will swival up at the other end. Or you may have to do as I did and grab it with a vice grip and pull it out and replace with a new one. One came with the last damper I installed good luck Ed ke6bnl
