    carb?

Have older Holly on '75 460 which is stock-any names for a good replacement carb would be appreciated. I plan to use this as a daily driver.

I PERSONNALY LIKE EDELBROCKS. IF IT WAS MINE I WOULD DO A 700 TO 800 EDELBROCK.THE ELECTRICE CHOKE IS ABOUT $40 MORE OR SO. IF YOU WANT TO JUST SLAP IT ON AND GO WITH VERY LITTLE ADJUSTING THATS THE WAY TO GO. SCS

I BELIEVE WHAT PAT IS REFERING TO IS THE 750 COULD AND PROBABLY WOULD HAVE TOP END POWER FADE ON ONLY A 750. I BELIEVE THAT AN 800 IS AS BIG AS EDELBROCK MAKES THIER CARBS. YOU WOULD HAVE TO GO TO A HOLLY WHICH IS MORE TUNABLE FOR RACE APPLICATIONS AND YOU CAN GET THEM BIGGER THEN AN 800. I HAD A 460 IN A 76 1 TON FORD X-CAB THAT WAS ONLY BORED 30 OVER AND JUST A MILD RV CAM. OTHER THEN THAT ALL STOCK DUAL EXUAST AND SUCH. IT WASNT PUT TO GETHER FOR HIGH RPMS AND IT WORKED GREAT FOR ME. NOW I AM BIAS ABOUT HOLLYS BUT THAT IS (1) I DONT KNOW ENOUGH ABOUT THEM TO WORK ON THEM TO TUNE THEM SO THAT THEY RUN RIGHT.(2)I FEEL THAT A EDLEBROCK AND CARTER CARBS SEEM TO BE ALOT MORE CRISP ON THEIR OPERATION WHEN STOMPING ON THE GAS PEDDLE. I HAD A HOLLY 850 DOUBLE PUMPER ON MY 428. I THEN PUT A 750 EDELBROCK ON IT LOVED IT. NOW I HAVE DUAL 500 EDELBROCKS ON IT AND HAVE NO POWER FADE TO 6800 RPMS ACCUALLY PAST 7500 RPMS I DONT SEEM TO HAVE ANY POWER FADE BUT...... I MISSED THIRD GEAR AND SHOT THE MOTER WELL OVER 7500 RPMS. NOW I HAVE A DIFFERENT SET OF HEADS (BENT 3 VALVES BADLY) AND A CRANE REV LIMITER TO PREVENT ANOTHER ISSUE LIKE THAT...
