    Question 429 headers

I have a 1969 ford xl convertilbe that has a 429 automatic and I would like to install a set of headers on. I am having trouble finding any that are made to fit. What I am looking for are a set of equal length shorties unless anyone has any better ideas and a place to get them.

I think you are going to have a tough time finding these off the rack. Don't know if you could modify a set from lets say a Mustang with big block, or have to start from scratch.

You could probably start researching all the headers made to fit various Ford cars and pickups, and find something sort of close, then slice them up. Not really as horrible as it sounds, and sometimes the only way.

Also, on a convert you may be actually happier with standard manifolds and duals, and a whole lot easier.
Don........as long as I have projects to finish I can't die

Thank you for the information. I have thought of the chop and dice method of getting the headers I need and have done it in the past but just thought I would ask.
I also prefer to think that even though I might have projects left, if I should die then the one with the most toys wins...
    Thanks

Check out sanderson headers-cheap price.- I chopped up one of a pair to fit 460 in a 61 falcon with a rod and custom front end. The real deal is at headers by ed. Not chaep but quality/fit- Nuff said. Time for bed..Tres...
