With the rebuilder 460 dish pistons and your C9VE heads, your compression ratio will likely be around 9:1.

The 429/460 oiling sytem design is a fine one, and one of the beautiful things about it being its simplicity. It oil path is well routed, works well and is better than needed for its intended application. It's effectiveness as applied in the production block allows just a few simple mods to dramatically increase its capabilities. It may or may not have its limitations depending on what the final build will be, but many people running our oil pumps with our recommended oiling modifications are reliably managing 7500 rpm with rock steady oil pressure. These oiling systems/mods are more than SCS needs and while an oem oil pump may suffice, I personally feel that opening up the pump-to-filter pad gallery is always a good idea regardless of build. I am also aware of motors with bone stock oiling systems that have handled more power & rpms than this engine will likely ever see.

SCS, feel free to contact me with any questions you may have.

High Flow Dynamics has two websites, really. One that sells our parts (http://www.highflowdynamics.com/) and the other that is known as the "Technical Pages." Oiling mods may be found in the High Flow Dynamics Technical Pages, including the modificiation being discussed on this thread (under "Block Oil Gallery Mods").
