460 swap
i've got a 73 Ranchero that's been in the family since new with a 351 cleveland. thinking about making a project car out of it. just happen to have a 460 and tranny out of a 68 continental. or course i'd rather have a 427 side oiler but....... anyways, would the 460 be worth the trouble to build and swap or should i keep dreaming to find a 427 along side of the road? just would like some opinions? thanks!!

Nothing wrong with a 460, a cam and normal hop-up stuff will make it wail. Lots available for them, too. But then the same goes for the 351C, too, why not work it over?

thanks!
thanks, guys. i've considered rebuilding the cleveland - it sure would be simpler in terms of not having to find miscellaneous parts (and it's all there including ac). i guess the gearhead in me just liked the idea of awesome, thunderous torque to incinerate the tires. and, the cleveland has been a pitifully sick puppie since birth. will probably be my last "big" project car so i was just thinking something a bit exotic, and i already had the 460.
thanks again for your opinions!
