Hmmm... I can't remember ever seeing chokes on 6-71 carbs. I'm running two Holley 750 DP's that were set-up by Gary Dyer.. no chokes, inverted power valves etc. Starting the motor is accomplished by pressing down on the throttle ONE time...hit the starter & she comes to life without ever hearing the starter. This is the same at 100 degrees or below freezing. I admit that I'm not a carb guru, but IMO, I would think that seeking out people that know how to build/modify blower carbs would be good advice. If you run it lean one time..there could be some serious consequences.
